First practice held at Itaquerao stadium

SAO PAULO - The stadium set to host the opening World Cup 2014 match in less than three months opened for a brief practice session on Saturday, with construction workers taking a break to watch players step on the field for the first time.

Although the Itaquerao stadium isn't expected to be ready before mid-April, Brazilian club Corinthians trained in a closed session open only to journalists.

The Itaquerao was one of the six stadiums expected to be finished by the end of 2013, but a crane collapse that killed two workers in November caused significant delays to the venue where Brazil will play Croatia on June 12.

World Cup 2014 Opening Ceremony in Brazil June 12, 2014

World Cup 2014 will be the 20th FIFA World Cup, the premier international football tournament. It is scheduled to take place between 12 June and 13 July 2014 in Brazil.

In the Opening Ceremony, the official World Cup song for 2014 "We Are One (Ole Ola)" will be performed by global Superstars Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull together with Brazilian star Claudia Leitte in June in Brazil, as announced by FIFA.

2014 World Cup Group Bracket Tournament Standings

The World Cup 2014 Final group bracketing for the 32 teams participating at World Cup finals has been announced at the Costa do Sauipe Resort, Mata de Sao Joao in Bahia last 6 December 2013.

World Cup 2014 will take place between June 12 to July 13, 2014 in Brazil, the host nation. The opening match is between the host Brazil against Croatia.

Match schedule for 2014 FIFA World Cup™

The 2014 FIFA World Cup™ also known as (aka) the 20th FIFA World Cup, an international soccer football tournament, is scheduled to take place between June 12 to July 13, 2014 in Brazil, the host nation.
This is a one month long tournament. This is the second time Brazil has hosted the competition. Brazil will become the fifth country to have hosted the FIFA World Cup twice, after Mexico, Italy, France and Germany.

World Cup Info for 2014

The 2014 World Cup will be the 20th FIFA World Cup, an international football tournament that is scheduled to take place in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July 2014.

This is the second time Brazil has hosted the competition, the first being the 1950 FIFA World Cup. 

Brazil is scheduled to become the fifth country to have hosted the FIFA World Cup twice, after Mexico, Italy, France and Germany.
